About

As 2025 approaches, I am thrilled to share that the upcoming year is shaping up to be monumental. Recognized by Netflix and other influential companies, I am stepping into this new chapter with immense gratitude and excitement. Your unwavering support has brought me here, and I’m asking for your continued encouragement as we reach new heights together.

As an Author, my work has always been a reflection of my life experiences and a source of inspiration for many. My book series, Trauma to Hope (formerly known as Oceans of Thoughts), is a testament to the resilience and strength found in overcoming challenges. Through inspirational poetry, I’ve explored themes of life, love, struggle, and triumph, aiming to motivate and uplift readers from all walks of life.

How We Got Started: From Trauma to Transformation

Every journey begins with a moment—one that defines who we are and who we choose to become. For me, Brent Dempsey, the seeds of my path were planted in some of the darkest and most difficult experiences of my life. I am only partly defined by what happened to me, but by how I chose to rise from it.

My story begins with adversity. As a young boy, I faced unimaginable trauma and hardship that left scars not just on my heart but on my entire outlook on life. I was misunderstood, mistreated, and at times, misjudged by the very systems meant to protect and help me. Instead of receiving compassion and care, I was handed labels and blame—labels I carried for far too long.

But it was during moments of darkness that I discovered something powerful: my voice. I realized that my pain had purpose, and I began writing—pouring my experiences, hopes, dreams, and struggles onto paper. Writing became my refuge, my way of making sense of the chaos around me, and ultimately, my way of healing.

Over time, my words transformed from an expression of pain to a source of hope and inspiration. I saw how my writing resonated with others, how it brought comfort and understanding to those facing their own battles. This realization fueled my passion to share my story and to let others know they are not alone.

Expanding My Reach

Currently, my Trauma to Hope series is available on Amazon, and I’m eager to expand its presence to a wider audience. My vision is for these books to be accessible in libraries, high schools, colleges, universities, and bookstores around the world. I firmly believe that this series can be a valuable resource for:

  • Educators and Students: As material for Literature, Social Studies, Current Affairs, Social Sciences, and Caribbean History courses.

  • Adults and Seniors: Providing thought-provoking reflections and motivational insights.

  • General Readers: Inspiring hope and encouraging personal growth.

Partnering with Retailers and Contractors

I am looking to partner with all retailers and contractors of all types. I would love to join and be a part of your group or store to share my books and the messages they carry. I have worked hard on all my books, and it’s my dream to bring them to audiences who have yet to discover them.

My work focuses on letting everyone know they are not alone when it comes to mental health struggles, PTSD, or the lasting effects of childhood abuse. These experiences often leave lasting scars, and while some of us find help through therapy or other means, others may struggle to access the support they need. For me, writing became a form of outreach, a way to process my pain and find healing.

I hope that my writing can serve as a beacon for others in their own journeys of healing. The key to this process is forgiving yourself and rediscovering self-love. Without self-love, all efforts in therapy or treatment may feel futile. My poetry is a reminder to readers that they are not alone and that there is hope, even in the darkest moments.

About the Series

The Trauma to Hope series comprises three books that delve into various facets of the human experience through poetic expression. My writing style has been described as thought-provoking, motivational, and deeply moving, often referred to as a source of literary and educational value. Each poem carries messages that resonate with readers, offering solace, understanding, and empowerment.

The Next Steps

In 2025, I aim to:

Expand Distribution: Make my books available through more channels, including IngramSpark and Barnes & Noble, to reach global readers.

Collaborate with Educational Institutions: Partner with schools and universities to incorporate my work into their curricula.

Host Workshops and Events: Share my journey and the messages in my poetry through interactive sessions.

Engage with Supporters: Build a stronger connection with readers and supporters who believe in the transformative power of my work.

A Call for Support

This journey is not one I take alone. I need the backing of my supporters, educators, retailers, and literary enthusiasts to bring this vision to life. Whether through sharing my work, connecting me with opportunities, or simply spreading the word, every bit helps.

Thank you for believing in me and my work. Together, we can make 2025 a year of hope, inspiration, and boundless possibilities.

Let’s turn Trauma to Hope into a movement that touches hearts and changes lives.
