Ahoy mateys! Welcome to the Booksie Out of this World Pirate Writing Competition. The challenge of this competition is to write a pirate story that does not take place on planet earth. Where to set the story? That's totally up to you. Have fun with it, be imaginative, be bold and entertain the heck out of us. If you do so, you could go home with a chest full of Bitcoin gold.

There is no minimum length but a maximum of 5,000 words.

Judging

The judging will be done in rounds.

Finalist round: We will select six finalists who will be chosen by the Booksie editorial staff. The names of the six finalists will be announced approximately six weeks after the contest has closed.

Winner round: One grand prize winner and two runners-up will be chosen by the Booksie editorial staff approximately two weeks after the Finalist Round is announced. Sole discretion for choosing the winners rests with the Booksie editorial team. All editorial decisions and procedures relating to this Contest are final.

Two runners-up.
