It is a made up story about a girl who died at the age of eight.

The Day I Died

I was cold and misty, the day I died. I was only eight years old and I was playion in the local park with the other children. My parents had gone to a nearby cafe, convinced I would be alright. The trees were only sticks and branches that resembled long, bony fingers. The falling leaves had turned red, yellow and orange with the season, and lay in piles below the trees.

I was enjoying myself as I was on the swing, my auburn hair blowing in the wind as I swung back and forth. But, across the field, my sapphire eyes spotted an old man with a beard as white as snow, peircing emerald green eyes locked on me. The man was wearing an old grey coat with a black scarf. My eyes followed him as he came closer and closer.

"Hello," said the man, his voice soft and gentle, "come with me and you can have anything you want." Not knowing what was happening, I followed the man, hoping he was telling the truth.

I walked with the old man in grey down to the local graveyard. The entrance was an arch of dull, prickly branches, the cemetery was covered in grey headstones and buildings where the bodies of rich dead people lay in a sleep for eternity. The man brought me to the grave of young Eliza Ellens who died at the age of seven when she was hit by a car.

As I read what was on the gravestone, I was not aware that the day had fallen dark. All of a sudden, the man grabbed me and I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was tied to a tree next to the gravestone of Eliza Ellens. The old man now held a thick brown book that read 'The Spells of the Dead'.

The man started speaking in a strange language, then a flash of green light shone from the book and moved like mist towards the gravestone of Eliza Ellens. I watched as the ground shook and trembled beneath the gravestone, then a ghostly white figure rose from the gravestone and hovered over to my direction.

Before I was aware of what was going on, the young girl had gone straight inside of me and my spirit flew out of my own body. The body that was once mine resembled the girl who had died in the car accident, with ehr long hair and her green eyes. As I watched, my soul rose up into space, where I now watch the days of everyone I knew. Both my parents have died now, and I still watch for evermore.

My name is Amelia Strathfer, I died on the 12th of October 1979 in London, through the spiritual possesion of the body, and that, was the day I died.
