Chapter 2
Maria Turnbull couldn't believe it. How do you even begin to try and understand why your husband's gone crazy? Do you blame yourself? Maria did.
\"Arnold? They're going to help you here, ok?\" she began to sob, \"I love you.\" she said kissing his head.
She clutched her belly, she felt her body retch, she tried to stop herself but she began to hurl.
\"Mrs Turnbull, are you okay?\" a female orderly asked, Maria nodded but the orderly was gone. A few minutes later she returned with some water. \"Please, come with me.\" she said, ushering Maria
into a side room. She took a seat. \"Okay, here at Riverwood, we do things a little different, we have all of Mr Turnbull's medical records but we like to ask the families of our patients, what
their personal experience of altering attitudes from their relative are.\" \"So Mrs Turnbull,\" she continued \"how has Arnold changed, and what do you feel caused that change?\"
Where to start? Maria thought. She took a sip of water.
\"Errr... we lost our child, a little boy, at just two weeks old, the police treated his death as suspicious and accused dear Arnold of hurting him, once he was cleared, it didn't matter to him,
he was still a mess, what with the trial and everything, he just never got to grieve.\"
\"So you think it drove him mad?\"
\"No,\" Maria answered \"it pushed him over the edge, but what really got to Arnie, was about four months ago, I found out I'm pregnant, he started saying weird shit, he even took to writing crap
on the walls.\"
\"So because Arn... I mean Mr Turnbull never grieved the loss of your son, he could never have the excitement of your second child? and that's what made your husband have a change in sanity?\"
Maria nodded, and began sobbing. Her heart felt like it would beat out of her chest. The orderly thanked her and showed Maria where to get out.
Why the fuck am I here?
Where is my wife?
I AM NOT FUCKING CRAZY
\"None of us are.\" the voice resonated through his four walled padded room.
\"But... I don't belong here.\" said Arnie, his heart pounded.
Where was this voice coming from?
\"SHOW YOURSELF!\" his voice boomed.
\"Are you sure you want to see me, Arnold?\" He nodded, what's the worst it could be?
Pitch Darkness filled his once brightly lit room, and he realised he was NOT ALONE!
