Step-by-step Instructions for Posting Content

Publishing content to the site is a key part of Booksie experience. We've tried to make it as easy and intuitive as possible but in case you are having problems, we have put together this guide. You can press the ? icons next to many input fields to receive help. The publishing process if a 4-step process. Once you go through it once it will seem simple. At the bottom of this page is a video demonstration of how to publish.

Step I. Basic Information and Summary


The first part of the publishing process is to fill in general information about the content you are about to post such as the title, who can see the work, and where the work will appear on the site.


1 Click the blue Post Your Writing button at the top of the page.


2 Click the blue Add New Content button on the next page.


3 Fill in the Title, Story Type, Genre, Tags, and Status..


4 Below, on the same page, fill in a brief description of the work and then press the Submit Basic Information and Summary button.


Step II. Create a Cover


5 The site will generate an image for your content or you have an image you want to use, you can upload it from your computer or your phone. Click the Browse button to upload your own image. If you are happy with the site-created image, press the Next button at the bottom of the page.


6 If you have uploaded an image, you can choose from any of the image filters. Once you have chosen the text color, text size, and any other filter options, press the Next button at the bottom of the page to continue.


Step III. Add Content


7 Paste or type the main part of your content into the editor box. You can paste from Word and most major word processors.


8 Press the Next button at the bottom of the page.


Step IV. Publish


9 Under Publish Settings, choose a House. Choosing one helps organize the content on the site and determines which House will be the home for your content. Content published there most follow the rules of that specific House. Content can only be published to one House at a time but you can change the House where your content is published at any time.


10 Click the Publish button at the bottom of the page.


11 That's it, your content is published. You can see it by clicking the View public content button.


14 Now, use the email function and the social buttons to share the content with your friends, relatives and connections and build your readership and fanbase.

Step IV. Publish


11 Under Publish Settings, choose a House. Choosing one helps organize the content on the site and determines which House will be the home for your content. 12 Find the chapter(s) you want to publish and click the green Publish button.


13 That's it, your content is published. You can see it by clicking the blue View button.
