Snow blankets all
like confectionary sugar -
a fantasy land.
Hydrants are toadstools;
we walk on the clouds.
The light is different,
whiter, brighter.
The day is quiet,
sound swallowed
in a blanket of powder.
The road is still dark.
But for awhile
at least
We are in a different land.

I really like this! You painted a vivid and cozy picture and it makes me miss having snow days. The snow really does make everything look like a new land. The rhythm of the poem flows very well too. Great job!
