my thaughts of challenges and my option if you should embrace a challenge or not

Is it better to resist rather than to embrace a challenge? No it isn’t, because if you embrace a challenge you can obtain additional knowledge and different opinions related to what you have just achieved. You will also endeavour to acquire and yield more information about what you are undertaking and how you will benefit from it.

To embrace a challenge is to overcome your fears, if you have any, and to be overjoyed with what you have accomplished when you’ve overcome the challenge.

For instance in ‘Touching the Void’ when Joe fell from the ice cliff and broke his leg, and Simon then proceeded to abandon Joe because he assumed he was dead. The challenge for Joe was to make it back to base camp with a broken leg while having no food or water, then to find out when he reached camp that Simon and their Sherpa had burnt all his clothes.

An alternative challenge is presented in the book ‘The Greatest Refugee”. Ahn Do and his family travelled across the ocean in a boat occupied by people who were fleeing from a war stricken country. Then his boat was attacked by pirates, and he had to deal with seeing fear in the eyes of his fellow passengers, and the fear of death he himself felt. The passengers, including Ahn and his family, went on to overcome the situation and managed to eventually reach Australia.

Those two samples aren’t common challenges that you and I would face on a daily basis. Paying the rent, going to school, sitting tests, finding and performing jobs, driving a car or just shopping are all examples of challenges that we could expect to face on a daily basis.

Even writing this essay is a challenge because I am not usually good at writing essays because I can’t usually think of words to put in to make it have meaning and also I can’t think of word so  it sounds professional as I can without making it too  complicated so I that I can’t even understand it.

I have also endured some hard challenges like changing primary schools twice and changing high schools once. The challenge in that is to find your way around the school, to make new friends and to join peer groups that you can relate to, also the task of meeting new teachers that you don’t even know or what they are like in general.

To just live life in your particular style may seem easy, but it can also be a difficult challenge that some people can’t handle. These people can develop emotional disorders or mental illnesses.

Love and loss can be a topic that can present many seemingly insurmountable challenges for young and old people. I have a friend that just had his heart broken, but I can’t say his name so I will replace it with John Doe and the girls name shall be Jane Doe. The challenge for John Doe was to muster up the courage to ask Jane Doe out and then having to face being rejected. John Doe still came through though and still had an interest in Jane Doe until the time that she told John that she kissed his enemy, and then John suddenly didn’t like her anymore. He benefited from this challenge because he realised the true personality of the girl he’d liked.

For loss and grief, a challenge is to see one of your best mate graduates from high school, and trying to cope with it and then the difficult task of trying to find a new best mate after the two years that you knew them. The loss of a family member you were close to and loved dearly is also a challenge hard to overcome.

For athletes, races and competing to win are challenges that may have an advantage that could lead to better focus, thus a possibility to overcome their competitors. The challenge can lead to the gain of better faculties and experience.

Challenges also apply to me. Learning theoretically or playing an instrument, writing a song or just composing a song or a piece of music can be a challenge.

For example when I write the majority of my songs I need to find some sort of inspiration, a muse if you will. For example ‘Cloud X’ I needed to research the information that corresponds with the song but with another of my songs ‘Love Bites’ the inspiration was simple to find because I wrote it the afternoon after we had completed the program ‘Love Bites’  at school . this is my option of examples and what I thought of challenges.
