Love is eternal etcetera, etcetera

You tell me that you really love him,
Well I wish you all the best.
Though I must admit my hopes submit,
As they did for all the rest.
Now you tell me that you really love her,
Well good luck to you and of you go.
With golden hair and eyes so fair,
It's a tumultuous sea upon which you row.
I tell the truth when I say I do not love her,
Love without future is not my style.
I see no purpose in dating the surplus,
You find them every league and mile.
Perhaps love is sweet,
Perhaps it is kind.
Maybe one day even I might find,
A love of true beauty,
Maybe we will meet.
To walk together forever,
Regardless of others,
Despair and pain can never dissever,
The dreams of two lovers.

This really sweet and very thought provoking.Quite honest too. I'm sure everyone has stayed in a relationship that they do not really want just out of habit. Great poem.
