As lips graze their neck, an unwavering wanderlust is sparked, leaving them yearning for more. This poem delves into the complexities of desire, the sparks of inspiration, and the heat of fleeting connection.

In the Heat of It

Your breath—

Warm against my neck;

Dense summer air, wrapped around me,

Your embrace. I’m not imagining—

It’s not just the heat; am I a wreck?

Holding you tightly—just a few more seconds,

Discerning the air from your skin,

Perhaps intertwining them in recklessness.

I told you not to kiss me,

But you ran your lips across my neck,

And you sparked my unwavering—

Reckless wanderlust.
