Words that spring from the mind and heart
are not written to please or agree
Perhaps they were written while on a journey
Others have not taken and cannot see
Flash a smile that they have not smiled
Cry a tear they have not cried
Many or most never understand
Some not for a moment tried.
Dreamt a dream while wide awake,
and mourned while stone asleep
Starving amidst gluttons all eating well
Losing what others managed to keep.
Died a death they have not died,
lived a life they did not live.
Holding on while they let go,
Not receiving but forced to give.
This heart did not leap or bleed,
in the chest of another person,
This journey is unique of course,
Or at least a different version.

Your writing appears to be highly reflective right now. I hope it is providing some element of catharsis to your experience.
Tue, February 11th, 2025 10:17pmThe end of the first stanza doesn't feel quite right, the two negative statements with the "but" in between made me wonder if one of them should have been positive. Sorry, not.a very articulate comment. If the "others" have neither taken nor seen the journey, I think "nor" might be more fitting. I hope that makes sense?

No you are correct. That is a proofreading good. Thank you for reading and spotting that.
