Bonus Chapter 11

I finally took the plunge and emailed David Foster the composer. I am not holding my breath if I would even hear from him, after all who am I to him? I am just a nobody, an unknown despite my musical. talent. Anyhow I would be shocked if I did end up hearing from David himself and if he was not only interested in my self composed stuff, but possibly wanting to use my music. Anyhow here is a copy of the email I had written to him on his website below: Note: I omitted my last name, phone number and email address into xxxx's

Here is my email to David below:

Dear Mr. Foster

My name is Marina xxxxx I am of 58 years of age and I reside in Burnaby, British Columbia, and am a gifted, amateur, Pianist, musical prodigy, and music composer. My reason for contacting you is due to my interest in sharing some of my music samples with you for I feel that my musical talent deserves to be recognized and am hoping you can guide me as to what avenue my music should go such as possibly recommending me to any non profit music agencies who may be interested in my music.

I am also open to the possibility of you in being interested in using my music in some way. Secondly, I am also hoping you may be looking for new local B.C. talent as well.

I myself do self randomly compose music(without knowledge of sheet writing) for pleasure despite I do play some music by ear (without ear training ) which I been doing off and on since aged 4. And the rest is as mentioned above is self composed /self taught. I consider myself to be an amateur pianist/music prodigy and music composer despite I have no previous music composition nor harmony training, although I am self taught in music composing.

I realize and do not consider myself to be a professional pianist nor musician except for it to be at an amateur level, but I feel that due to my musical ability/talent that it would be beneficial to possibly in hope to enhance my musical talents in some way if possible. Many people on social media platforms such as on Tik Tok are noticing my music which is starting to become more recognized despite my limited music experience.

I am familiar with your musical works where one of my personal favorites is of your musical singing collaboration with the late Olivia Newton John back in 1986 as you two were singing, “The Best Of Me”, along with the Love Theme from St. Elmo’s Fire which was also quite popular back around 1986.
