There is a different feel to this story than Song of Grace. It feels heavier, and by that I mean two things. First, because of the situation, there is a foreboding feeling that you carry along with Miriam as she makes her rounds. The second way this first chapter feels heavy is because you are very descriptive and put a lot of detail into what Miriam sees and feels. Whether you did it on purpose or not, the adjective-heavy narrative adds its own weight to an already gloomy opening chapter.

This is very good writing. :-)

Thank you! The stories write themselves and they decide what kind of writing style they want, but I know it's very different from the other stories :)
