The bluebird found me again.
In the garden I wept,
Slouched over,
My head
Against the cold edge of the birdbath.
I heard a faint chirping in the distance
Like a dream.
I thought the day would never come.
I thought it wasn’t meant to be.
I thought I’d be alone forever,
But there He was again.
I lifted my head and glanced towards the sky
It appeared bluer than I remembered.
He swooped down,
Gently,
Perched on my shoulder
Whispering in my ear:
Don’t fear child
I am still here.
