Believe me, when I say I dreaded going to class that day. It was a normal day I went to my classes, got assigned homework, talked to friends, etc. Only today I was feeling off, my vision would get blurry and I would feel a bit lightheaded at times but I thought it was normal. That was until I went to my final class of the day, everything was normal people talking to one another while others just focused on their work, that’s when my classmate Gabe turned to me, smiled, looked me dead in the eyes, and said,

Zoom Out.”

Everything started to get blurry, my hearing was starting to deteriorate, and everything was going in slow motion. The last thing I saw was Gabe looking at me with a devious grin as his skin slowly started to peel revealing what was below the surface the entire time.

I jolted awake and looked around only to realize I had passed out and I was currently in the nurse’s office and someone was trying to hand me something.

I rubbed my eyes to get rid of the dots blocking my sight then looked to my side to see Gabe handing me a towel while smiling at me as he said with a sinister smile,

“Welcome back.”
