The Tale of the Saint and the Power of Faith

Thousands of years ago, in the peaceful valley of Mount Aramac, lived a kind old man who was a saint. He lived in a small wooden house, far from the nearest home, getting food from his kind neighbors and leading a simple life. His days were filled with praising God, singing gospel songs, and enjoying the special visits from the Creator. The saint had special powers given by God, allowing him to bring peace or fear to people.

One day, the unfaithful king Bronz asked the saint to come to his palace and offered him many gifts. Interested, the saint went to the palace and enjoyed the king's wealth. One evening, King Bronz told the saint, "I heard you have a gift to make people listen to you, and I want to use it to make my kingdom rich." The saint, surprised by the king's request, said, "You can bring prosperity if you tell me how."

King Bronz shared his bad plan to make the people of an enemy state turn violent against each other, so he could take their land. The saint, who had never seen bloodshed, found the plan scary. He asked the king, "Why do you want to sin by killing to get power and money?" King Bronz explained sadly that King Miser had stopped their water supply, making their fields dry and causing suffering. Despite giving King Miser money, he had not released the water, causing hunger and death in King Bronz's kingdom. The king feared losing a war against King Miser and being left alone by his people and family.

Seeing the king's trouble, the saint asked, "Why have you lost hope?" King Bronz replied, "There is no one to help us." The saint told him, "You have forgotten the Creator!" The king, confused, asked, "How can the Creator help when He is invisible?" The saint answered, "That is the mistake we all make."

The saint asked for a meeting of the people the next morning. For six days, he taught them to have faith and belief in God. On the seventh day, the saint asked the crowd, "Do you believe our Lord will show His mercy?" The people agreed God will, now full of hope, asked if God would help with their water problem. The saint told them to pray and see if God was willing to help.

As they prayed clapping their hands, butterflies started flapping their wings and a strong wind blew through the valley. The sight of thousands of butterflies and the vibrant colors of their wings made a beautiful scene. This phenomenon, called the "butterfly effect," showed how small actions, like butterflies flapping their wings, could create big changes in the weather. In a moment, lightning flashed, and rain poured down. News soon came that King Miser's kingdom had been flooded, the dam had broken, and his land was washed away along with them.

The saint asked everyone, "Who helped you all now?" and they all shouted back, "God and the butterflies." The saint explained to them, "It's not the butterflies but your praying hands which disturbed the butterflies and set them into action in creating this storm. It is your faith which conquered the battle and set you free."

Moral of the story: Often, God doesn't intervene directly to remove our suffering. Instead, He waits to see if we have faith in Him. Our faith is the key to resolving our worldly problems. Just as the claps from praying hands disturbed the butterflies and set off a chain of events that vanquished evil, our faith can conquer adversity and bring about positive change.
