Tribute in Amoretti 2
Starry Night Over the Rhone Van Gogh
I dreamed and drew you once again, but
my Rhone, often fast, would not be still;
vibrating and torched like lights deep
reflected into my heart; you seated upon
an evening night’s pier, and full moon before
counting all the stars. Then we had to up
and walk to a open car and empty world
ahead, to contain a growing pain for one
who unknowingly left her standing on a
path, with words of a promise unfulfilled.
Midnight blues pervade my heavens’ light,
scattered about by your wonderful heart
Love can be a drawn sketch that is kept
long and not imbued with hue until too late.
